MEGAN'S STORY I have a degree in English Language and Literature but after living in Melbourne, Australia for a year I came home and studied Graphic Design in the evening at a local college whilst working full time. I got a job as a Graphic Designer soon after, and then got my products onto the NotOnTheHighStreet website.
BIG BREAK I designed a ‘couples’ card that sold over 3000 cards. I was earning more than in my full time job, so I gave up my day job a couple of months later. I then started doing trade shows for wholesale whilst selling direct to customers online.
MY BUSINESS IS primarily a greeting card company, but we also design and make baby clothing, women’s tees and homeware gifts.
WHAT INSPIRES YOUR DESIGNS Usually we design around captions and sentiments, but also what we’d like to see that isn’t already out there. Sometimes the latest trends and fashions can inspire us, but our core is based around simplicity and coming up with something original that isn’t already in the market.
MY VALUES Originality, simplicity, creativity and excellent customer service is what matters to me most.
